70 340 FC7 challenger, original DAY 2 resto

gas gauge didn't rise when i added more fuel....temp gauge didn't work.. pulled cluster and tested gauges they are dead..wow

never seen 2 gauges dead like that before... had a spare cluster tested the gauges in it and they work...so my gauges all work now....
I had the exact-same gauge issue on my '69 Valiant. It's caused by a sticky voltage limiter. On my car it actually burned an entire trace off the circuit board as well as killing both gauges. I strongly second the suggestion of a solid state unit from RTE. It was considerably less expensive than buying another two NOS gauges. I drew the line at a repro circuit board, though. I soldered a jumper wire in lieu of the trace. One can only spend so much on a car with no performance heritage and hence no resale value. 😄

I love that you're keeping those window decals... I would too if my car had 'em.

glass in..interior in..steering wheel on... closer..

Super resto job, car is beautiful,,I know about the years go by thing, lol, you have it on the home stretch now, if you werent so far away, I'd let you do my glass, I got new hardware kits from Classic and somehow,, i dont remeber ALL that coming out years ago,,hope it cools off so you can complete it.

75% done with it..only took me 35 years.... bought from orig owner... all's matching..had center trunk pan and dutchman panel rust was it.. mostly NOS trim, lenses etc.. put a battery in it today and it didn't catch fire!

hope to start it tomorrow [really sick of pushing it around all these years] ... should be a fun one..

Did it originally come from Auburn Valley motors?

That car sure looks sharp! I really like the v5's. It breaks up the body line just right on fc7!

I need to get some of those dated plates for my Challenger, built in Oct 69. Maybe I will see your car at one of the car events, looks good.
