I have ordered many parts from Classic Industries. It seems the parts from OER don't fit very well, without modification to the part or the part it fits. Is anyone else having this problem? I have had problems with GM and Plymouth products from OER. It seems like OER parts are getting worse. Parts I used before don't fit. For example the turn signal switch I just replaced, didn't fit. I had to modify the steering column (grind the opening of the emergency flasher switch) and the emergency flasher knob. I replaced the same part a few years ago without any modifications, on the same type of car. I think the quality control has gone down.
Is there a better aftermarket company? Is there a good source for NOS? Sorry about the rant.

I’ve had issues with them recently also. I purchased one of their replacement seat frames that needed modifications to fit. I think it’s just typical for all of these overseas manufacturer parts companies.

When the cars where built. There was some sort of quality control. Good Bad or Ugly it was some kind of control. It was just a job for most of them.

Today. You would think the venders of the products would have some sort of quality control. But their in it for the money too. I would have to say their quality control is the buyer. There thoughts?: If the buyers doesn't like it they don't have to buy it.

It's just a matter of time until all the somewhat good products are used up. The quality of all products are in a free fall to junk! It's probably already there!

That's why good used or NOS bring a premium price.

I do have to say, that there was a period of time the reproduced parts were not to bad. Might be able to find some of them?

My auto interior guy suggested I order the new OER frame instead of trying to fix the old. Anyway it will be in in a few days and he will do a comparison. If its not up to snuff I will then have no choice but to fix the old one..the back got seriously tweaked. The last owner could of gone by the nickname "tiny". lol

Learning the hard way. Not all, but most after market parts for these cars are JUNK!! The original part will be the best route. Have a bunch of stuff I bought I never used because it just wasn't quite right. Many dollars later, just spend the money for original, or wait until you can buy it for the right price
Just my opinion.

I too have bought parts I didn't like and promptly sent them back for refund. I do not let a return shipping costs stop me returning something I didn't like. Better to get most $$ back versus it collecting dust here.lol

One thing I have found about NOS parts is that they are sometimes still around for good reason. For example, I used an NOS fender for my 70 cuda and the headlight bucket area needed to be reworked because it wasn't spot welded in the correct orientation. It probably sat on a shelf after they realized that back in the day until I found it.

I learned it was cheaper to sell something for a loss. Than not to have some cash to work with.
The 70 Turn signal switch is different
Just the hazard knob?

The NOS from what I seen. Some are second rate and I mean some. Meaning there not suitable for the assembly line with some defect.
