Looking.\nFor a diagram that shows the mounting hardware and mounting points for the upper and lower grill assembly.. I Have this kit here ... I did not take out the old one so I did not know where the little black plastic pieces go or the white pieces. Looks like there are 5 mounting points on the lower grill. Not sure which clips to use.I'm assuming the two silver screws would be going into the silver part of the grill..any help would be appreciated or diagram , thanks

Similar thread but not a lot of detail. I believe the 6 black phillips head screws and 6 metal panel nuts are to to mount the head lamp bezels (3 each per lamp). The panel nuts mount onto the grill itself.

The parts book is not real helpful either.

I made this composite picture just now with grill pictures from my computer. You can see the panel nuts clip to the grill to receive the phillips head screw to secure the headlamp bezels.

It appears to show where these pieces go at the top of the grill to the header panel? The header panel has slots under it that these insert to. Not sure about the screw that is used

Not real sure about the remainder of the panel nuts and the bolts/screws.
The white plastic ones with the chrome screws are also a puzzle.

I appreciate all the help. It is a puzzle for some reason.I thought that some of those clips, they are wide on one end enough to go on the plastic itself and then screw through the metal tabs in the valance the lower grill. But like I said , i'm not sure.. The only thing i've been able to come up with is is suggested to have the lower valance off to put the lower grill on

The lower valance I recall having a female groove on the bottom that simply slid onto the metal valence. Then if I recall correctly there is a screw each side outboard of the lights.

I have an NOS lower valance downstairs for my ‘72. I will try to look at it over the weekend.

My ‘72 is not in a good state.

You're\nCorrect about the two screws.. There are a total of five metal tabs on the valance itself three are at an angle at the bottom that matched the tabs on the lower grill.\n I just wasn't sure if the metal clips Attached to the plastic grill itself, or the metal tabs on the valance. I really appreciate the help

Perhaps the (2) chrome screws with the white plastic pieces are for the lower valence? Those screws would be visible.

So Would you say that the metal clips most of them would go into the plastic grill instead of the core support and lower balance metal tabs.. Seems like it would be more secure to have the metal clips on the grill itself on both grills

I will try to look at my ‘72 tomorrow. It got smashed by a tree 12-15 years ago….

After looking at it just a little while ago I believe those 4 black pieces do go in on the top side of the\n Top header piece. And there 4 or 5 screws that go along the top of the header that the clips go into the header. So I'm going to have to say that the top grill does not have any of the metal fasteners attached to the grill itself. That's what i've come across so far

The 4 plastic pieces seem to be correct. And what you're saying how they are placed in the slotted parts in the header.

My got feel is that the metal spring nut goes on the metal valence then the bolt with integral washer is thru the plastic valence.

I have not had a chance to look at mine. Currently pouring down rain.
I was thinking that way as well, but I have noticed that most of the time the spring net will go on the slotted side of something.\n And the boat will go through the normal hole In something but I don't know lol.. Also the washers on the bolts that came with the kit.Look to be really too small. It's funny. There is not any information , much on the installation of the upper and lower grill... I have not had any luck on any pictures either... On line...

I think the 1972 Plymouth Chrysler Imperial Body Service Manual is needed until someones detailed pictures are provided.

I do not have a copy of this manual but would like one. I searched for a free PDF and have not found one.

I have a PDF of the '70 combined body and chassis manual and a PDF's of the '71 body manual, '71 chassis manual, and '72 chassis manual. The body manuals provide some details for the '70 and '71 grill mounting.

What I have found out so far is that the kit that I have , and that is shown in a post.. Is for the upper grill only... There is supposed to be a different kit for the lower grill. If that's what they are calling it , maybe it's not called a lower grill lol

I ordered a hard copy set of original ‘72 manuals off eBay.

Will be interesting to see what the body manual shows for the grill installation.

But you have a '73...

The lower plastic grille, valance, whatever you call it is different.
'70 one year only. Metal valance no holes for lights
'71 one year only. Metal valance has holes for lights and the opening is different
'72-74 same plastic piece. Metal valance no holes for lights; I believe it is the same as the '70 version.

Not sure how the MegaParts listing can then be for both a '70 and '71
