Nice work mate, i bought a 90 F150 Lariat Lwb not so long ago and still have the Challenger . I put the truck LHD and full NSW rego, great truck but a guy made me an offer i could not refuse so the truck went . DUMB move by me and i miss that truck. But i am working on the Challenger now.

Yeah, mines full qld rego and lhd still as well. Funny you say that, I was out in it Friday arvo and someone hit me up to buy it! This one’s a keeper though.

The challenger is more of a keeper!

I've been procrastinating for a while now on working on the drivers side wheel tub. There's been an ugly repair to it, that just hasn't been sitting well with me. It's not a big job, a little fiddly but it was enough to look for other things to do. Which I'm kind of running out of excuses. The wheel tubs are holding up the next big burst of progress, getting me closer to having the panels back on.

The front flange of the trunk lid support was ok. The other two where very rusty. I templated up a patch from the underside and through a combination of hammer forming into a shot bag and then english wheeling I got close enough to the shape that I was happy. Cut out the rusty part with a healthy margin. By the time I cleaned up the side and rear flange of the trunk lid support I had to cut off and weld on new flanges.
TIG welded it in place and unfortunately ran out of weekend to do anymore. Still needs the welds cleaned up and planished. Then shape the new flanges to the new patch and spot weld the flanges down. Lots of procrastination for something that turned out not to be all that challenging in the end ...

Nice work down under. When you done under there most won't even see it, but you know it's there. As far as the C10 you can see a 10 in your next move.

Yeah, when I start into something it’s easy to keep going. It’s the transition between that the procrastination comes in

I knew I hadn't touched it for a while, but I didn't realise it was back in June ... I have made some progress though. I've prepared the overhead centre console to be re-covered, along with the roof hard liner as well. My slot in the queue with the trimmer is coming up soon so I had to get those ready for him to work on. That will have the seats and interior panels refurbed. He does some amazing work, so fingers crossed the same will happen with my stuff.

I alos had my front and rear bumpers returned from the better part of 8 months at the re-chromers. Apparently the shiny piece restoration buisness is very busy ... They've come up really well although I haven't taken a pic of them - they are all wrapped up with a protective layer until I'm ready to put them on the car.

So I finally got back to dressing the weld on the drivers side rear wheel tub. Process of learning and adjusting. I spent many hours over the weekend alternating between my OX planishing hammer, normal hammer and slapper as I worked the weld. I figured the wheel tub is a good place to experiment / practice. Still a bit more to do, but getting there. The TiG welds are so much easier to work with than MiG welds!

I ended up totally removing the trunk lid hinge bracket, it just made it so much easier to work. I've at least go two spot welds to work back to when I put it back together

At this stage, a very minimal amount of filler will totally hide the patch. I have sprayed the worked part with Easy Phos to stop it rusting - that's what the runs on it are.

No, being the SE it has a vinyl covered hard liner instead of the vinyl and bows. So I had to get the shape back in the original hardliner (sort of like cardboard /mdf type of stuff), fibreglassed the topside so it keeps it shape. Then the underside (interior) will get vinyl covered.

Do you have the clips for the hardliner that hold the centre console up? My centre console still has them on it, but non in the hardliner. Keen to see / get the dimensions of those to make some up.

Glad you pointed that out. From what I’ve read overnight, the sail panels, consolette, rear window surround and headliner were all covered in cloth.
Mine had obviously been recovered at some point with vinyl.
I had totally missed that!
