    My car just shuts down....HELP!!!

Ok so it's not spark. It fuel. I'm noticing that after a quick ride around the block that the see through filter that is inline between the fuel pump and carb was empty. I would assume fuel pump but it's brand new. Does this sound like a fuel pump pushrod issue??

    Fuel supply issue??

I fired my engine up tonight and at idle it ran fine. It had plenty of fuel in the see through fuel filter. After a quick ride around the block, I noticed that the see through filter was dry and the car stalled. So I am having a fuel supply problem. The pump is brand new from NAPA. The tank was...

    My car just shuts down....HELP!!!

All of that work has been done. I've changed everything over the course of the winter. New plugs, cap rotor, wires, I've changed all the fluids ect... My issue is this: when I first started the car it ran fine. I made some basic adjustments to the carb and timing and the car pulled HARD but...

    My car just shuts down....HELP!!!

OK history on the car... It's a 73 Challenger, it has a 69 440 HP motor with 906 heads, mild cam and electronic ignition. Don't know any exact specs on the motor because the previous owner passed away and left the car to his son. I bought the car from the son. Trust me not knowing much is a...

    My car just shuts down....HELP!!!

I tried taking my kids out last night for ice cream in the Challenger. I fired the car up and let it come up to temp in my driveway. Then we left and got about a mile from home. The car just shut completely off. Just died as I was driving it. My fuel guage was low and we were headed to get gas...

Year One head pipes?? Any feedback?

I went the muffler shop route....here's why. I am running a set of B body HP manifolds and the flanges are clocked differently than the E body manifolds. Instead of buying head pipes for the E body and having to alter them, I took my car to a muffler shop with a very good reputation for...

    73 Challenger taillight question

OK so I have a 73 Challenger. The car has 4 lights in the rear. 2 outside lights which serve as brake, turn signal, and running lights. My 2 inside lights have a red lens on the outside and a white lens on the inside. The white lens is obviously for back up lights. But the light socket that's...

Am I doing this the right way...

I have a 69 440 HP motor in my 73 Challenger. It has 906 heads with a hydraulic cam. Don't know the specs on the cam but it's not a stocker. I'd say about half way between totally radical and bone stock. A nice lope but still pulls nice vacuum. The motor has great oil pressure and pulls...

    Headpipe fitment with 4 speed?

I have a 69 440 in my 73 Challenger. I'm running 69 B body HP exhaust manifolds. I know that the exhaust flange is clocked differently on the passenger side and I've already dealt with that. The passenger side head pipe is installed with no problems. The driver side head pipe hits the arm of...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

I couldn't agree more. As nice as the white 86 was, it wasn't a Musclecar. At least not what I call a Musclecar. I know many times I took my family out for ice cream in the car with the top down and barely got any attention. I got more "thumbs up" the day I towed my Challenger home than I did...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

I'm NOT selling. I took some time and chilled out. Then I hit the car with full force. I spent the last 3 weekends working on it and it's just about ready to fire up. All that's left to do right now is to hook up the head pipes to the manifolds, install the battery, top off/double check all...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

HA HA for starters I didn't have a brand new 5.0 Mustang. I had an 86 GT with a worked 5.0. It had LOTS of work done to it and trust me it hauled a$$. It was a high 12 second car. Here it is.. I'm not sure how guys out there can think that a 340 or even a Hemi for that matter is any kind of...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

OK here's a list of things that need to be done to get the car roadworthy: run all the fuel lines from the new fuel pump to the carb...cheap and easy buy a new throttle cable bracket and install...about $100.00 new air cleaner....$45.00 new plug wires....$50.00 install the new head...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

I know....I know....If I sold my Challenger I wouldn definitely NOT be going back into a 5.0 Mustang. I had a nice one and the whole time I had it, I was wishing I was back in a Musclecar. I just can't stop thinking that if I sold my Challenger and got exactly what I paid for it, that I could...

I'm thinking of giving up my car...

I bought my Challenger in October. It's my first Musclecar in about 5 years. I got out of Musclecars for a little while when my 2nd child was born because we wanted to move into a bigger home. I branched off into 5.0 Mustangs for a short while due to the fact that they are V8, stick shift...
