The motor sits lower on the passenger side than the driver side. Is that normal or should it be level?
440.

Should be pretty level side to side. Front to rear is pretty level too. I didn't check the tire pressures before measuring, but they look about the same.

I agree , the engine always slopes down at the rear but should be even side to side .

How does the motor mount look?
I had this happen before with the rubber mount was split making it lower on one side.

Also a broken Drivers side mount could be setting up higher because it didn't fall back into place.

Check your mounts for their condition. If they are okay, you can usually just loosen them and straighten the engine from side to side. The engine will usually sit tail down just a bit. Look at your fan blades in relation to the radiator for an example. They should be in parallel.

Just an update. Motor mounts were good, the air cleaner was bent and made it look tilted.
Here is another stupid question. Does the engine sit directly in the center of engine bay? Side to side. Would the center of carb be directly over center of hood?

The engines are offset toward the passenger side. Extra clearance for the steering gear.
You can easily see this when looking at a Shaker baseplate/adapter ring.

Mine is a tiny bit lower on passenger and a tiny bit lower in the rear. You wouldn't notice if you didn't stand and stare at it for 5 minutes making sure you didn't leave tools on the intake or valley pan or valve covers before starting it for the first time though.

I just noticed that even though the motor mounts were good, they were different thickness. Causing the tilt, along with a bent air cleaner.

Where is a good place to get good motor mounts?
