I want to convert from headers, back to stock exhaust manifolds because I don't like the noise, heat, and scraping on the ground when I enter a driveway. I've been looking for manifolds for a 340. They are impossible to find or they are very expensive. Will manifolds from a 360 flow as well or equal to a 340 manifold? I'm not looking at power. It's a daily driver/cruiser. Thanks

Just off the top of my head. Mid 90's or latter Magnum engines manifolds bolt on to the LA. Also better performance. Someone might confirm year and performance.

I agree , the later 360 magnum manifolds will fit & flow better than almost anything else , you will need custom head pipes made

I used the TTI shortys. They were not cheap but they fit and do work quite well power wise.

I was thinking about the TTI headers. Did you have to change the starter? How is the clearance for the spark plugs? Thanks

No change to starter but I remember having to tell them what starter I had. The stock one.
Spark plugs easy as.
I also purchased the shorty front pipes tube set - all fitted very well.
The primary tubes are fairly small at 1 5/8 and not that long but at a guess they would collect at around the same place as the 340 high performance manifolds.

Thanks. Was the shipping expensive to New Zealand? I live fairly close to the factory so shipping won't be an issue.

I don't remember exact price it was about 5 years ago - but yes it was pricey. It would be a lot worse today I think.
I think if I lived close the TTI would be the way I would go for sure.
The shorty design is ideal for a street motor. IMO they would work at least as good as the HP manifolds or likely better.

Thanks. It's been tough looking for manifolds.

If you aren't really "looking for power", why post? Put anything cheap on it.

Not my bag.
Econo for the wife.
Smiles per miles for me...
Last 2 cars ran hi 9s and lo 9s on pump gas.
72 Challenger should be hi 8s with P/S, P/B, A/C, PWR Windows, locks, and trunk release.

I'm not looking for power. I just want to be sure I'm not going backward. I have seen a lot of 273 and 318 manifolds for sale. I don't want to install a 318 manifold and have problems.

For bottom end, midrange and gas mileage tri Ys can't be beat. I have seen them for sale cheaper than OEM stuff.

Conventional headers have four individual tubes from the head flange to the collector.
Tri Y headers have short (about 10")tubes from the flange to a Y, pairing two tubes to a larger tube about 20" long that then Ys together at the larger final collector. Doug Thorley was the most popular supplier of these headers for 30+ years.
They were popular when older engines had smaller heads and valves that didn't breath as well as more modern heads do. These headers enhanced the available power curves of the time. With bigger heads, cams, carbs, and intakes, the midrange and upper end enhancing 4 tube headers became more useful and popular.
TRI Ys enhance power at and below an engines torque peak 4 tube headers enhance above the torque peak to the shift point.
Today, tri Ys are primarily used for rock crawlers, 4 WDs, fuel economy, and towing vehicles. They were extensively used in cast iron and factory installed headers in the 70s , 80s, and 90s.

You are welcome!
I designed some headers for Doug Thorley in the 90s.
My shop extensively installed them on 4wds, tow vehicles, motor homes, and hi fuel milage vehicles, and still do occasionally. They are under represented in the street market due to cost and lack of advertising.
