What bearing or bushing should be I the lower end of the steering column tube ? I bought the only one I could find online but that doesn't look like it will work. Looks like it would work for my 69 barracuda but not for the 73 challenger. I have the small bearing that goes in the housing behind the crush can but I feel that there should be something to support the lower part of the steering shaft.

DMT sells a kit, or pieces of the kit.
The lower shaft part has the plastic ring that is captured/held-in by the large C-Clip.
Have you watched the video on rebuilding the column on EBodies.org?

I have watched a 4 part video but he is rebuilding a 70 column with a shift interlock tube not the same as a 73 column.

No brg is correct , supported between the upper brg & the steering box , , this allows for misalignment between the lower column & the steering box

Thankyou so much, this will allow me to continue assembling this car without worrying. Now I'll have to introduce myself on the welcome wagon, tks to Joeychgo

My 73 did not have any bearing at the end just a foam seal to help keep dust dirt and wind from coming up into the column. The steering box will hold the shaft in the correct location.
