1970 dodge challenger power steering box ?

Mitch, I have the FF Stage 3 with fast ratio pitman/idler & Saginaw box. Works great!! I wouldn't go down to the stage 2.

Disc brakes and small block kick down

Key word is Possibly. E-berg never checked. Bill Reilly of Reilly Motorsports (the Alter-K-Tion guy, somebody with no dog in this fight) actually installed the setup and measured it: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/mopp-0503-swapping-a-and-b-disc-brake-spindles/ Is it the...

    The new stuff

I'm running the Hotchkis TVS setup now and am very pleased with it. Their sway bar is axle mounted, but it allows more room for exhaust. I've complimented it with a Firm Feel Stage 3 box, Firm Feel 1.18 torsion bars.

    WHIPLASH cams ???????????

The Hughes camshaft will make more power/torque but you're going to give up some drivability. The 107 deg LSA will produce a choppy idle and lower vacuum. Not really a big issue, but you should take note especially if you have power brakes. I have a Hughes grind in my 360 and love it. It's a...

Best Radial Tire for Front of Barracuda

I've always been a big fan of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s in the 60 series 15" size. The largest I've comfortably fit in front is a 235/60R15. Generally, the 245s are too tall for the front and rub when turning. My favorite stance is 235s in front and 255s in rear with 15" tires.

What's the biggest i can get?

I run 275/40ZR17s on all 4 corners of mine. Stock suspension, lowered a bit in front, saggy leafs (need replacing) in rear. 17x9 rims 0mm offset (5" backspace)

    Disc Brake Conversion question

The simplest setup for you would be using the 73-76 A/E body disc setup. It uses the most readily available parts. First thing you will need is a disc brake mastery cylinder. You cannot use a drum M/C with disc brakes. The spindles/caliper adapters are now being reproduced. Magnumforce and...

    Suspension

Sure-grips wear when you go around corners. Basically when one wheel spins faster than the other. If you ever have a flat, make sure the wheels on your rear or you potentially face burning them out! So, that being said you can put a numerically lower gear and not effect the sure-grip in any...

Mustang Wheels on Challenger please help

The biggest problem is his backspace measurement is wrong. SN95 (94-04) Mustangs are at about 1" pos offset. (~25mm) The new ones not sure, but I know they have more positive offset. My 17x9s have 6" backspace without spacers and the 17x8s are 5.75". My 1" spacers make both fit.

Mustang Wheels on Challenger please help

You should be pretty close to fitting already. 17x8.5 should be 4.75" for optimal fit. That being said you should have no problems with 4.5" backspacing as my 8" wide rims have that and my 9" wide rims have 5" backspace. That 17x8.5 with 4.5 is within both of those extremes, front and back...

alignment specs for a 73 challenger

That's what I meant to say. Sorry, I don't work on GM suspensions so I never had experience with offset Balljoints. The guys in my SCCA class are all Ford Guys. The one Chevy guy that occassionally shows up is an a 4th Gen Camaro. Not many "pro-touring" guys out my way. When I show up with...

alignment specs for a 73 challenger

It's common not to get less than 0* camber with a lowered E-body. I have the same problem on my Challenger, and it's not lowered much at all. E-bodies stock came with Positive caster, and unless you're running a restored bias ply car, there's no real reason to do that anymore with radials. As...

Viper vs Baer 13inch front kit

I agree with you Allen. The Baer kit is a bargain. Especially for what you get. PBR calipers (same as on an 03-04 Mustang Cobra), drilled/slotted rotors (same as what's on a 03/04 Mustang Cobra), new hub and caliper bracket. I have this kit (still in boxes). I'm also going to go with their...

    340/360 Swap

The mounts will be the same. The oil pans are different. As for the balance, if your 340 is an internally balanced motor, there will be no weights on the converter. If the 340 is a later externally balanced motor, there will be a weight on the converter. The 340 external balance is different...

    Spacers

As long as they are solid "billet" bolt on spacers you will be fine. NOT CAST! NOT SLIP ON! I run 1" spacers on my car with 11" wide slicks on ALL 4 CORNERS and don't have any problems. Just make sure your torque all 40 lugnuts with a torque wrench and you'll be fine.

front spoilers or splitters for Challenger

the 'cuda has a different front valance. It would block the parking lights/turn signals on a challenger. AND it has a different profile. Hellooooooooo!

    Hotchkis suspension upgrade kits

^ I agree! I'm slowly using their parts (I'm ordering the "kit" piecemeal) and the construction and finish is first rate! So far just the rear sway bar is installed and it made a HUGE difference in how the car handled. I have a 1.125 front sway (addco) and 1" t-bars, and stock rear springs...
