Thanks for all the excellent replies people! And YES, Mascottrepair, the distributor is the ONLY item not replaced under the hood, ignition-wise. I had one guy mess with the distributor weights and lock them out, in an attempt to get better runnability. The engine has not stalled or died since...
Yes, XCuda, all true and accurate. I know that the Fuel Tank and Sending Unit were replaced before I bought the car, probably going back about 15-20 years at this point, by the previous owner. That doesn't guarantee anything of course, but at least we know it wasn't the OEM parts still in the...
I didn't put the cam kit in myself, so I don't exactly know how it was done. But the guy was an experienced engine builder and looked at the engine later and (seemed to) confirm that there was nothing wrong with the cam. But I hear what you're saying and if the fuel pump pressure yields nothing...
Hey guys.. several years ago, I upgraded the cam with a Comp Cam kit, for slightly better performance on the 440. I believe the lift was .477, so not super radical. However, since adding the cam, I've had a runnability problem, where the engine will not rev above about 3000rpm and bogs on...
Hey guys...I'm having a friend come visit and I know I want to take him in the car, but he's an above average size guy and I need some help either finding a seatbelt extender or just use another type of belt that will interface with mine. I have the Pontonier 300-2 style belts in my car, but...
You know, I'm not sure what they are. My door panels are "Dash Top" brand, only because there's a sticker on the back of them. The convertible panels I don't know, but no, they didn't come with the holes already drilled for the snaps.
The boot itself is from Legendary.
Hey guys.. so I'm finally getting around to putting the snaps on my convertible boot. I bought this boot new about 5 years ago, but never went through with the snaps nor put the corresponding holes in the convertible panels to utilize the snaps.
Does anyone happen to know, is there a "spec" for...
That's because I grounded the motor block (one of the studs) to the engine, but removed it when it didn't fix the problem. Does it need to be grounded to the ballast resistor, for some reason?
OK, thanks for that EW1... I guess my problem could still be a lack of good ground, either at the motor or the switch. I'm pretty sure I properly grounded the switch to frame, but not 100% that I grounded the motor properly. I'll have to go in there and check the grounds and improve them at the...
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions people! It turns out, very likely, that what I've got is a "touch up" can of paint, which may have been formulated only for spray guns, and could be extremely thin. This could be why I had trouble getting the coverage on the parts. Because I also used...
I'm trying to paint my fender screws to match the body color. As it turns out, it appears my screws are the "black oxide" type and won't take paint well. Does anyone either a) have any suggestions of what I can do to make those screws take and hold the paint? Or, b) what type of screws are...
Hey guys.. my 2-speed wiper motor is not homing the blades. I've tried grounding the motor and the wiper switch in the panel; no change. I've attached pics of the motor. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get to the homing switch inside the motor WITHOUT removing the motor from the car...
