1970 Challenger build!!

Here's my Challenger, it's a 383 2bbl car with a green top and green interior, bucket seats, column shifted, tinted windows all glass is there and good too! Not too sure how rare it is with the color top and interior combo........but I plan on doing an R/T clone and make the car I always wanted!!







Sitting under the ledge of the house caused some cancer, which also ruined the trunk pan. I was able to get a filler deck replacement fairly cheap and good quality one at that! It fit in there pretty good and ended up looking great!











Next was the engine, was a pain in the @$$ to pull out, but when I got it out I found out it is the numbers matching engine and trans!!!





I decided to go with the tubular suspension I honestly didn't feel like pressing out the old bushings!!! Replaced all the other bushing with Moog parts to top it off.





Found an original R/T hood to start the transformation into an R/T clone!

Looks like an excellent project and you're getting a great start on it. Looks like you'll have a numbers matching R/T clone! Are you going to keep it column shifted? Are you changing the colors?

I have a 440 that I'm going to put in, I'll set the original engine aside. I just picked up a console on the cheap! I plan on keeping the colors and getting rid of the column shift. I love the color combo I think it will make it a head turner.

Congrats on your project. Looks to be in decent shape, was that a Wyoming car? White and green will be cool. Check out the white '71 SEMA Challenger by Modern Muscle on this site if you haven't already.

I have, and it's sweet! It's originally a cali car. I've tried to find a white car with a green top and I can't. I would like to so I can get a picture of what it will look like when finished!

I was able to score a console and hood scoops for the Challenger! I plan on cleaning up the console and painting it green to match the rest of the interior when I get it. I plan to go through Eastwood anyone else use them? I like the fact I can get almost all the interior with one order!





Here's the lot of parts I got from another military friend I didn't get a picture of it separate, but what part is the black piece behind the headlight bezel? It had been so long since he had the car he couldn't remember.

The long piece behind the headlamp bezel is the trim piece that runs along the bottom of the dash. The console will fit but it is for a 71-74 Challenger. 1970 is different. Instead of an ash tray in the rear of the console, it is a place for the seat belt buckles to rest in.

Hey guys looking to find out how to go about mounting my console brackets?? I guess I could mark the holes on a 2x4 and mount them to that then weld them in.... I still have to drill the hole for the linkage, luckily that's easy to spot!!

Also I've looking at a lot of 70 Challengers and have had no luck finding one's with out the wooden molding in the door panels. Mine don't have them and they don't have the holes for them either....

Thanks! Yeah I plan on building it as if it were an R/T car. I'm adding a 440, console/shifter, already has the tubular upper and lower control arms.
