Hey guys. My first post. Life long Mopar Guy who has had mostly B Bodies. I finally got an E Body with a 1970 Cuda with a 383 AT. Coupe. This may be the dumbest question you guys ever read. I am trying to replace a couple of broken bulbs in the tailight. These are the ones on the each corner of the tail light. I think it's the brake lights or flashers. I've changed hundreds of lightbulbs in mopars. For some reason both new bulbs go in but I can't twist to lock them in place. I've tried over & over and had a friend try. Can these lightbulb sockets get so bad that they won't hold the lightbulbs anymore. The middle ones are in fine. It's these ones on the end that no matter what I do won't twist and lock. They are off set sockets. Thanks for any replies in advance.

rotate them 180. I think one side pin is higher than the other. that is usually on the two filament two-center contact bulbs.

I tried that already but will attempt it again. Thanks for the reply. It just feels like they are stripped out & may have to get a new rear harness. No rust though or
corrosion from what I can see. It's so strange. Gonna go try again.

Chinese junk bulbs. If you try to put the old bulb base in
I'll bet they go right in.

I have 1157 and 1156s that were junk.

I did try the old busted bulb ones and they went right in, twisted & locked in place. Leave it to China and Mexico to not make the right stuff!

That's what it is. I bought the lightbulbs at Oreilly as I didn't want to wait on shipping. Thanks. Hope when I get better bulbs that it fixes the problem. All the other rear bulbs are in and they work fine.

Can you tell me what company sells the best lightbulbs? Also what are these lightbulbs for? I'm guessing brake lights & back up lights?
