Used to be a member in the 80's -90"s then my transmission/engine failed. Parked car in the August 2000 to replace transmission and engine. Started back up this year and slowly putting the car back together. Originally the car was a 318 SE with air conditioning. Basic dash and if I remember correctly a 2.76 axel (non-original]. It had the SE trim, basic AM radio with center speaker, rim horn, map light, drum brakes and delayed lights. Plus, the fender turn signals and side lights. Originally being a bench seat and console automatic. When I bought it in 1994 it had been converted to bench seats and floor shirt.

The 318 was smoking so I replaced the drive train with a crate 360 in the mid 90's that had 380 Hp and a Hemi transmission. I converted the front brakes to disc because sliding two city blocks on a hard stop didn't work for me. Originally went with stock style brakes and the upgraded to using period related Córdova (dodge I believe front sets) which worked even better. Redid the front suspension with poly urethane pieces so handling was greatly improved. Added large front sway bar and stock rear. Went to 15 each wheel for more meat on the road. Had rear quarter panels done and a new trunk area. Then had the car repainted B5 with metallic flakes. Redid the interior and upgraded the upholstery to match paint job (SE cloth style seats with blue/white stripes. Upgraded radio with a 1990-period cassette deck.

Prior to 2000 when my last child was born, I bought a lot of car parts to make my car into what was called then a G-car. When the transmission died my son was 3 months old and it turned out that the crate engine crank had be sliding back and forth in the engine destroying the Hemi transmission. Due to family needs the car just sat at a mechanics house until he passed away which cost me dearly since he didn't keep good records of the items, I paid cash for. Such is life (small tear in eye). So I currently have a rebuild original factory block 70 hemi that puts out 520 Hp on the dyno. New 727 transmission that is built appropriately I hope (test of time will tell). The frontend is a magnum force piece and was one of two choices around the year 2000. I have TTI 3"
system that is ceramic coated. A march serpentine system on the front of the engine and the Holley carb is a 850 cfm.

I'm in the process of putting a holley blue fuel pump in the car. It will attach to 1/2" line a friend put in for me while I was enjoying the crate engine. The car has a front drive shaft safety loop (similar to Classic Industries part M18055). Then I will start doing items to custom fit things like the driver's side exhaust system in. Transmission and Kickdown linkage around the exhaust system. Put and new radiator (custom ordered from Entropy Radiator Corporation) to fit my tight engine compartment constraints. My car was originally an air conditioning car (which has never worked while I owned it). I have parts for the system from vintage air from around 2000 but I'm thinking of using the original lines with the AC compressor.

My big challenge will be putting the engine wiring harness on the car. I bought new wires for Big block and Hemi after my drive train died. I have just not rewired this part of the car. I replaced most of the wiring in the car from the dash back with original wiring from Year One. The cars my father worked on always had custom work involving his cars that were a bear to fix. So, I just got new wiring an reversed the plug and play process to insure that was an issue for my car. Two weak areas I have are tracking down shorts in the system and rebuilding the drive train. So, I will need the forums expertise to have my car rolling by spring. No pictures for now because I have to figure out how to send text to my email account from TMobile.
