318 Cam Bolt

All,

Just checking to make sure this is normal; I have done a few Cam swaps in my life and the cam bolt is typically centered in the engine block. My 318 has this cam bolt flange which is clearly off-center, is this normal?

That offset piece is the fuel pump eccentric. It is normal.

Standard on all carberator Mopar LA small block engines. Without this eccentric, the manual fuel pump won't work.
Make sure the woodruff key is installed properly and gets a good bite on the eccentrics' slot. If the eccentric slips off the groove, you will be stuck . No fuel.
You should have a Factory Service Manual. It will illustrate these things and give you all the torque specs.
