Boring my 340 block .30 over. I have a stock forged crank (being turned .10), forged stock connecting rods, full floating wrist pins, and Edelbrock RPM Performer aluminum heads. I'm going with a roller cam & lifters, and roller rockers this time. I will not be racing this car and do not plan to spin it beyond 6,000 unless by accident. I still want an honest 10.5 compression. Any piston manufacturer you would recommend, or any to stay away from? Should I consider anything other than "forged"? Also, any type of piston rings - same question. Thanks in advance.

Jaun, if the crankshaft hasn't been ground yet, ask for an "index grind"! It ensures all throughs are 90° apart. Mopars were pretty good for this from the factory. Chevy and Ford, not do much!

If you're not going to race it, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons are an option and cheaper. Any forged pistons are good. SpeedPro, Diamond, Wiseco and Ross are all great pistons.

I went with the Keith Black pistons from Summit. They will be here Friday. Sweet! Thanks - John.
