Hey! New guy here. 😊 I have a 1970 Dodge challenger RT that I am currently working on. The front brake calipers were both seized up after sitting for 42 years. I have ordered 2 different sets of calipers and they won't fit on the car. The first set I got from orielly and I had to hammer the caliper on the bracket. Then I couldn't get the bolts to line up. So I ordered a set of remanufactured ones off ebay. Same thing. I got to looking at the new VS the old ones, and the thickness of the tab where the bolt goes through is different. The tab won't go down far enough to allow the bolt to line up. Did they make different types of calipers for the 70 Challenger? Also the brake pad on the outboard side won't fit onto to caliper. I have to hammer it on. Anyone else seen this problem? I ordered a 3rd set from NAPA. They are rebuilt so I hope they fit. They are supposed to be remans. Thanks for any advice!

I rebuilt the stock ones on my 70 and ordered them from Napa and they fit perfect. Not sure why the others are not right? Also, welcome to the forum. You might want to go the the Welcome wagon and introduce yourself and we would like to see that Challenger you are putting brakes on. 😀

Go to my YouTube channel Wags Automotive and you can see it rolling out of the pig barn after 40 years almost to the day! 😁🐖

Check to see of there is piston (Resin or metal?) for sale.destroy the piston and replace. spray with KROIL ,loosey-goosey,Pb blast, there are some others. let it set A week? Then try heat and air. used a number of times.watch it doesn't kill you! Being that tight the caliper might be to far gone.you don't know until it's apart.Remember the back side of caliper not as critical as the side.

Did you look for the broadcast sheet?
Haven't touched the interior yet. The guy I bought it from had the seats reupholstered right before he parked it. And, unfortunately the one bad thing about it sitting in a pig barn for 40 years is that there was an entire mouse condominium inside the car, so I'll be surprised if I find it. 😕
