Hi guys,

My fuel gauge as topic states, seems to work , but when full doesn't show full and as I use fuel it moves a little down.

Is there a problem with the fuel sender or the gauge, I would have thought that the gauge is working as it moves a little.

thanks

jc

the sender has a range of resistance , the guage responds to the resistance . the easy check is to ground the wire to the sender momentarily & see if the gauge swings over to full . the feed to the gauge is a pulsing voltage averaging 5v , a test light will flash when tested , a meter will swing but I doubt you have a voltage problem

Ok so I unplugged the sender, put some cable in the plug and put the other end of the cable onto the frame of the car. Nothing happened. When I plug the sender back in the gauge goes up a little. I don't think there is a problem with the gauge.
