I'm looking to convert my 73 cuda rear bumper to a 72 rear bumper. Does anyone know the difference in dimensions between the brackets for the two years. I am trying to avoid having to remove my 72 cuda's rear bumper to check this. Thanks in advance

Had a nice fit by using 70 to 72 brackets. Didn't have to cut anything. Just had to use a little creative shimming to get the lines to match up

The car you're looking at is an unrestored but painted barn find I got about 10 years ago. A 1973 340 cuda with rally gauges power steering and power brakes. The other car is a matching number front to back almost 5-year nut and bolt restoration. It is a 1972 high option with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, light package, AM/FM, positraction, etc.
I used standard u-shaped body shims under the brackets. Actually it's kind of funny I had to shim the top of one side and the bottom of the other to get the truly straight line across.

Just out of interest if you blow up the picture on the back of the 73 and the left lower corner you'll see an original ziebart logo. It has plugs in the rocker panels and elsewhere where they sprayed inside. The car is an Ohio car and I believe the only reason it's not totally rotted out is because of this treatment. LOL

Well things fit pretty good. I was able to put a set of bumperettes with rubber strips on and they add a nice look with the blacked out tail panel. He'll just need some cleanup and a couple of spots of touch up paint.
