Got a 74 Cuda I'm redoing, car has tank with 4 vents on it, can someone confirm what fuel and vent line kit, I need. I'm not opposed in going with the 70 or 71 kit. Everything was already missing on the car except a fuel line someone made and installed their selves.

some info.
Here's a start. to figure out what you want to do.
The ECS systemm had nothing to do with the vapor separator.
The vapor separator/filter was used on all '70 440 4bbl - 440 6bbl - HEMI cars.

The return line from the vapor separator goes to the sending unit with or without ECS.
the vapor separator goes into the tank

The ESC has no provision for what you want to do. It returns vapor from what I understand.
I think this is what you have to do.

another concern I have with this is the trunk drop from and has the hole for the vent line in the trunk which I don’t think the 74’s had.

FYI, the 440/426 e-bodies came with an OEM 3/8 fuel line from the tank to the engine. All the other engines has 5/16 fuel line.

A 3/8 fuel line carries at least 40% more fuel than a 5/16 line at STP (standard temperature and pressure)

If running new and planning on an engine more potent than stock, I agree with going with a 3/8" supply line. A 1/4" return line will be just fine regardless of engine.

I’m going with a 340 with w2 heads. I bought a new 3/8’s sending unit. As the old new one was severally tampered with. The car did have a new tank with it and everything else was just rigged together.

Where would you guys connect the return line if I don’t have a vapor separator or anything like that on the car.

If you don't have the setup below, you can connect the return line to any of the four nipples coming out of the fuel tank. Personally I would run the set up in the diagram because it gets so freaking hot here in the desert that it's nice to have as it keeps your gasoline from evaporating. And remember a special pressure vacuum relief cap is needed for the system below. If running the return line to one of the four nipples, I believe you need a vented gas cap.

You should really think about installing the vapor saver system. It gives the liquid fuel a space to expand into and return, also it deals with the fumes from evaporation. It actually works very well.
If you have a liquid return line from the engine bay there is an extra nipple on the fuel tank sender for that.

I don't know the best way forward for you. Someone may chime in. Post a pic of your trunk floor.
My car is a 1971 and has the system posted in #11
The 1971 vapor separator is not reproduced as far as I know.
I am not familiar with the system your car would have had originally. Probably worked OK though.

There is nothing there. I replaced the whole back half of the car. I noticed the amd trunk drops have the hole for the early 70’s style. The last cuda I done didn’t have this hole so this is what got me thinking what was going on here. From my research the 74’s had a separator that mounted just a little forward of the tank up on the crossmember.

OK if you have that largish oval shape hole on the right hand side near the wheel well - get the 1971 system.
I have seen the vapor separator come up on here a few times for sale. Just watch it is not rotted out.
It has a deflecting plate that protects the vent lines but Mega Parts and most likely others sell this.
Also there is a little mount on the wheel well - not sure if this is available new.
Do a search on this forum this subject has come up before and guys have posted pictures of what you need.

I have a 73 Barracuda that had the system that your car has/had with the fuel tank with 4 nipples. I changed fuel tanks and added the vapor return line. The oval hole in the passenger side trunk extension is for that. I bought new 3/8 fuel, 1/4 vapor return line and the correct vapor kit that ties in with the single nipple on the passenger side of the fuel tank (new tank, 74 tank will not have that nipple). If you use this vapor return system you have to cut an oval hole in the passenger side rear frame rail for this line to connect to the fuel tank.

If you want to keep the 4 nipple system, I have the small tank (mounts on the rear shock crossmember) that connects to the 4 nipples and the charcoal canister with some rubber lines that is used with that system also.
