On the back half of your Challenger with NO Chassis or suspension modifications? (standard Cragar SS 4.25" BS) any issues? Any pictures?

I haven't done it recently, but I ran 15 x 8" Cragar SS mags and 275/60-15's on the back of my A66 70 Challenger. The only suspension change I made was adding air shocks because the car was a tail dragger. This was early 80's time frame. I only pumped the shocks up enough to level the car, and I didn't ever keep it at stink bug stance...lol. There was plenty of clearance between the tires and springs. Sometimes, if I hit a pot hole or bump real hard, the outer top edge of the tire on the drivers side would rub the inside of the outer wheelhouse where it starts bowing in. But only if I hit a hard bump. I had 275/60-15's on 15 x 8 Torque Thrusts on the back of a 71 Challenger several years ago. No suspension mods, no air shocks...and they never rubbed. I have 275/60-15's on the back of my 71 Challenger convertible on 15 x 7 factory Rallye wheels. The only time they have ever rubbed was when 2 heavy duty beauties at a car show wanted to ride in the back seat around the car show grounds where I went to a show. I have since learned that NO is a complete sentence!

I don't have cragars, I have aftermarket factory style 15x8 with 275/60/15 on the back. They fit and i haven't had any rubbing, but I would say it's a tight fit. I believe the backspacing is either 4.25 or 4.5 I can't remember

I have 15x8's with 275/60/15's on my 70 Cuda right now with 4.25 bs. They rub the wheel wells unless I have the air shocks jacked up (which I hate) I am looking to put Cragar SS's on it as well. I'm looking at the 4.75 bs wheels. I have about an inch of clearance to the leaf spring on the inside I feel like they will fit better. I'd like to know if anyone else is running the same wheels too ?

I WISH WHEN YOU ASK A DIRECT QUESTION YOU WOULD GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER. IF YOU DON'T KNOW DON'T COMMENT."I THINK" DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. JUST HE FACTS PLEASE!!

I have in the past. I run even wider 295's on my cars now on 5 different sets of 15x8 wheels with no issues.

What back spacing are you using ? The fit looks a little tight what are you using for shocks ? Any rubbing inside the wheel wells ? Understand I live in Pa where pot holes can be massive Smooth roads are RARE around here. Penndot sucks!!!

All stock type suspension and shocks. No mods anywhere on any of the cars, no rubbing issues any where, and no air shocks.

What are the specs are those torq thrust D's?? I want to run those exact wheels on my 70 Cuda.

I ended up buying 15 x 8's for the rear with 4-1/2" bs I put 255/60-15 tires on them. They fit the rear wheel wells PERFECTLY I am so Happy with the way they fit. I put 15 x 7's with 4-1/2 bs on the front with 235/60-15 tires They also fit perfectly Overall the wheel and tire change HAS MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE STANCE OF THE CAR.

Some of the pictures may e of cars withut airshocks, but the springs have been changed. The cars when new had a rear end down stance.
Exceptions were the AAR and T/A with staggered tire size.
Air shocks are a bad Band-aid.
New rear springs with a higher arch are the proper way to change rear ride height.
Otherwise the shock absorbers only function is to dampen the compression and rebound of the springs, keeping the tires in contact with the road surface,
They do not support any weight.
