Never used to hear of lifter drama. Now whenever someone say "lifter failure", 30 people are saying "I'll bet it was Comp Cams"

Comp cams, are you guys reading this?

We’ll, I’ve got something going on. Mostly inspection though. This my first Comp cam. I will say it’s been good though. I’ll share my findings. Hard to explain, I haven’t experienced a lifter issue or wiped out cam. No valve train noise. It’s just not hitting as hard as it used to. Even after adjusting the roller rockers. It’s time for me to take a look. 500 stroker w/ comp cam hydr flat tappet .545.
I built it in 2009, 2500 miles.

Did you have to get pushrods made? I had one do that and all it turned out to be was two valves weren't quite closing all the way. I backed them off a bit and that solved it

I did.
Valve train is coming off here shortly. Just inspecting it all. This motor isn’t broken. I’m just a bit ocd. Time to clean up some things too. And I have some Trickflow 240 heads that may end up going on it. After they get fully inspected. If that happens, it will be a roller set up. Just pricey but, what’s not.
Thanks for that info though!

I think a lot of folks are on edge with all of the quality issues we are seeing. Being diligent and possibly over doing it won't hurt you. Missing something can cost you thousands.
