I have a 74 cuda 360/727 slap combo. The original carb is finially gone and the plastic base was a little warped. I'm sending it off to be redone. Will take a few weeks though. I want to drive the girl and also have a couple of shows during the time the carb will be away. My question is I have an edlebrock 600, and do not want to modify any linkage while the carb is away, but the linkage hits the egr valve. if I put the spacer on then the air can hits the hood insulation and do not want that either. Somebody suggested an EGR valve block off plate. Will this cause any carbon issues, engine issues, or air issues if I block it off? also, what to do with the vacuum line that ran from the egr valve, just block it off?

THANKS ANYONE!!!

blocking egr into the intake will just help it run cleaner , just plug the vacuum line or port

so run the normal base gasket with the edlebrock 600, so it sits low. remove egr and block it off with the plate, and cap the other end where the vacuum line runs to? correct? then all is good?

THANKS MAN I I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!
