Challenger 1970 part next to hood hinge

Hello, I'm not sure if this is right place to ask, but what is the function of the plastic parts next to hood hinges?

That one is broken. There’s supposed to be a spring loaded plastic wedge that rides in the center. It helps align the hood when closing/closed.

Thanks! makes sense now. Both sides look the same so they both are broken. With quick googling they seem to be available in many places

I have heard tales of the repros being kind of crappy and breaking right away. Not sure if it applies to all but thought I’d mention it.
