Conductive Grease - Instrument Panels

Anyone advise putting any amount (or zero) of dielectric grease or conductive grease on ANY of the interior instrument panel connections? including any ground connections to frame or body?

Conductive grease and dielectric grease are opposite things I think. What are you trying to accomplish?

Yes, dielectric grease is a good thing on the connections and grounds, if they are clean. It will keep the connections from oxidizing/tarnishing which can eventually cause a poor connection. It does not conduct electricity, but if your connections are good it does not hinder the flow of electricity. This is what makes it good for multi-pin connectors, the current will not short to the next pin.

Permatex recommends it on terminals, plugs & boots, etc.

Adam has it 100% correct. Do it. Makes connections both airtight and water tight.

As an added note; If the wires have been handled already , it may behove you to wear nitrile/latex gloves and clean the connections with either an electrical contact cleaner or swab with iso alcohol ( to remove the oils and salts, etc) then apply the D.E grease before making the connections.
Wouldn't even hurt to do upon opening a new electric component package prior to making the connection(s).
