Hello all, Can you guys tell me the differance between a manual and an automatic console? they appear to be the same from the picks on an E-body, the pic is supposed to be a 4-speed......thanks WAlt

It is the square cut out area for the shifter-manual and Autos are not the same. Also the consoles are different at the back-some have a ash tray and some have a cut out for seat belt storage.

the bottom edge of the console was notched to clear the shift boot on the 4 spd , the Auto console can be cut to allow clearance for the boot , you will still need the different 4 spd top plate as well

The top plate is the wood grain. There are a couple of chrome phillips screws that hole it on. Change the top plate to change it from auto to manual.

Friends, I am looking for complete center console assembly and linkage. No current posts on forum. Any leads used, repro or otherwise greatly appreciated. (71-74 challenger)
