Hi everyone I was replaced my deck filler panel on my 70 Cuda ordered an AMD panel and it does not fit properly has anyone had any issues with them the gutter area is between an 1/8 to a 1/4 in off in the depth so attaching it to the quarter panel is a problem the original that I did not toss just yet is deeper and consistent all the way across

Bummer. Post a pic... I used an AMD panel and it was a pretty good fit, only needed a little massage.. this panel is just sitting in place for a mock up. Still had welding to do on the 1/4 window channel..

Yes, that is at least an 1/8th too shallow.. send it back, or use it to patch the original.. I assume the front corners are rusty?

Are you sure the vendor didn’t pull a fast one on you? My AMD panels (lots of them) fit about as good as it can get..

Check out the side profile pretty drastic

I have replaced both quarters and the deck filler panel using all AMD. And you definitely have to work on some parts more than others. These all fit just fine with a rusted loaner trunk lid. And I was going to final weld them in place. But when I put the original to this car trunk lid back on, it was way off. I used 2 deck fillers cut and welded together to get it long enough to mate with the trunk lid and the glass. Then reworked the Quarter panel corner radius on both sides to fit. Also worked the convex shape where the deck filler and the quarters come together. Each time I replace panels they always fit differently. Some times its not much work at all. Other times its a major pain in the butt. I still think AMD makes the best aftermarket sheetmetal.

I hear what you are saying but take a look at that last pic unacceptable to be grafting for that I might as well buy goldstar had I known I would not have removed mine like I did

That is the picture to send to Jeg's for a refund. Was the panel in an AMD box or a generic Jeg's box? You might have an inferior off-brand panel like Adam suggested above.

Like a knuckle head I threw the box out trying to keep my disaster area clean 2 months ago. I used AMD on a previous build without an issue assuming the same for this project

I replaced the dutchman panel on my 70 Cuda years ago with an AMD piece and had issues with it also/ It was somewhat short from side to side but it was close enough that I could massage it and make it work. If it had been any shorter I would have had a big problem though.

They had problems with their BB valve covers. 1) the bolt indents were too narrow and the bolt washer
rode up on the sides preventing a seal around the hole. Never saw oil pour out so fast, almost as soon as it started. 2) the oil fill was keyed wrong and any Mopar cap or facsimile was perpendicular to the cover. Found a GM cap that had the 90 offset to make it work. 3) the spot welds left 1/8"
indents all along the outside were the splash shields were attached. On OEM you could barely tell...

Was told to contact them for credit but I bought them 3-4 yrs ago
off Summit and just got around to installing them so I didn't bother...
