I am looking at a 70 Challenger that has a 383 matching # motor (N code on the vin) but is a JH Car. Could you get a 383 HP that wasn't an R/T?

That's the first time I've ever seen Y02, pretty cool
I think the 330HP version was used on RR and SB's when AC was optioned on the car. It was also blue rather than orange.E61 is a two barrel, E63 is a four barrel. At least for 70. There was at one time (1968 in particular) when there were two different 383 4 barrel. The Roadrunner and Super Bee has a 335 hp version (bigger camshaft and stiffer springs) and there was the 330 HP version in everything else. I could be wrong, but in 1970 and 1971 you only had the higher performance 383 (plus the 2 barrel version) in B and E-Bodies. Like I've said in many post, I learn new stuff every time I log on! And I think I'm pretty Mopar savvy!![]()
