Does anyone know if there is any type of actual gasket that goes between the hood and the actual scoop?

That's a good question the Challenger hood has openings that the scoops fit into and need the gaskets to seal but the Barracuda hood doesn't have any openings so maybe no gaskets?

if you are talking about the "nostrils" there are no gaskets. It's just a housing with 2 holes per side, and the finned "fake" vents have two screw holes that line up and take allen screws.

djais1801 - No, I am not talking about the finned insert that attaches to the actual scoop. I am talking about the mating surfaces between the actual hood and the scoop.

On my 71, there is a formed plastic gasket that goes between the sport hood and each hood scoop. I have not seen those gaskets repopped yet. Mine were a little brittle but was able to reuse them.
