I have a 70 440-6 car. The end of the distributor shaft is broken off. I really dont want to pay crazy money for another distributor. Does anyone here know if i can use a Presolite cast iron single point distributor shaft in it? I can find one of those reasonable.

Thank you

If the case is aluminum no you cannot, have a picture? Or the distributor number? I have plenty of parts for distributors.

How did the tab break off? Does the shaft in there now spin at all?

I just re read this yes you can if it is a RB prestolight doner, make sure the shaft bushings do not have any play side to side with the new shaft they will have different wear on them, if so you have to change the shaft bushings out and burnish them in to the new doner shaft. Very expensive distributor to replace. Any questions just ask.
