fan stays on---been a while, fan tays on with ignition off. a while a member gave name and part # for replacement. found it once but somewhere in time I lost it. it is in the steering column by the key switch. Michael '71 challenger

Ignition switch Acc side might be shorted. Unplug this plug under the steering column. If does not shut off. Disconnect the battery, Very high chance of fire! There is a dead short in the dash harness.

When you unplug the wire and the fan shuts off, There is a good chance it's the ign sw or the wiring to the ign sw. Do this to be sure, jump a wire from the dash side wiring plug. From the red wire that is battery power, to the black wire that is the acc fuse box feed. The acc should all work as they should. If the fan come on there is a short in the dash wiring. Pull the fuse if it still runs you have a short.
