I have replaced the passenger side quarter panel on a 1971 Challenger convert and have acquired a NOS flip top gas cap. Does anyone have a picture or two of how this is mounted to the filler tube and the quarter. Thanks

It mounts directly to the filler tubes 4 screws. What you have is actually a cover, the cap is very small and screws into the filler neck as a normal cap would. There sholud also be a rubber cup type seal mounted to the cover.

Make sure it fits before painting your car. Repopped quarters have had some fitment issues with OEM flip top caps.

That is just what we are doing, testing the fit of the flip top before we put paint on the car. I think the AMD quarter isn't deep enough for the flip top the fit correctly. I believe the quarter will have to be massaged to make it fit right. Thanks for the pictures.
