Hi I have just finished restoring my 71 Barracuda. I removed the gas tank to clean and coat the inside. When I replaced the tank, sender and all connections I just routed the overflow breather pipe higher than the tank and secured. I found that when I filled the tank for the first time that the breather kept overflowing fuel. I only have one gas tank breather outlet opposed to some tanks have 2 or 3 outlets. No matter how high I hold the outlet it still overflows. I have looked on line and see that 90 % of cars have an inlet return pipe welded onto the gas cap inlet pipe. This is where this breather pipe is connected to. Originally my cuda did not have this. What is the correct instillation of this gas tank breather pipe.
