its getting crazy on parts. On b bodies only people are asking $400 plus for a 68-70 tire jack. Think I need to sell mine.:)

I didn't know heaters could be deleted as an option from the factory.
In what part of the world would you not want to have a heater? At all!
Somewhere in the middle east perhaps?
Or somewhere else just as hellish, Lol

I'm not sure of the number of E-bodies that were delivered with "heater-delete" but I can't imagine it was many. As rare as that piece is, they are easier to come by than a 1970 non-rallye dash radio-delete panel. Here is a link to the MMC Detroit page showing photos of heater-delete cars and all the various parts associated with them. Interesting to me anyway...

I have a heater delete car. The plate on Ebay is not that big of a deal. All the factory did was to glue a rectangular plate on a heater control face that was empty of all control mechanisms.

Post up a picture of that if you don’t mind

What a great sites, even if you are not planning to have judges go over your work, the pictures can help you put things together right.

Heater delete is a strange option because normally in places that are hot during the day it gets fairly cold at night because there are no clouds to trap the warm air and in the desert the winds from inland are colder then the winds off the ocean. In the early morning the windscreen would get foggy and need warm air to clear it up.

It was to lighten the car and get a credit for a delete option. My heater delete car is a JH car with the N code 383, 4 speed, 391 sure grip and not much else. It came with drum brakes and manual steering. When you open the hood, it has a single fan belt, 2 hoses, a radiator and the motor. Simply business and light. It was bought to be a blank slate to race. Oddly enough it has a radio and the moulding package.

I think it is a dumb option anywhere in the world you get cold conditions as well as hot so there will always be a need for a heater. In Australia if you don't have a warm airflow through the demister your car will not pass a roadworthy examination and you will be unable to licence it.

Absolutely. Even though I am doing a "Day 1" restoration and hope to have it judged someday, I mainly bought the D.W./MMC Detroit books so I would know what parts go where as my car was completely disassembled when I bought it.
