I am new to Mopar‘s, but recently purchased a 1970 Dodge Challenger numbers matching project. The car is a 318 with a 904 transmission 7 1/4 inch axle. I look forward to checking out the site.

I would like to get the car running and driving with nice paint, and just enjoy it. Its a very solid car, just needs finishing.

That's a good plan especially since it has the original drive train. Fix what needs fixing and drive it.
