Hello all, I am a long time Mopar fan and hope to be able to get and share information. I am currently working on a 73 Challenger and have hit a few snags. I tried posting a little earlier, not sure if I did that right, so I'll try here. I purchased a set of weld on frame rail connectors from USCT, they don't fit the floor pan profile. More specifically the rear portion of the connector appears to be on the opposite side of the channel. Does anyone have any experience they can share on this? In the attached photo I have tape around the section in question. The profiles on the inside of each rail should be on the outside and the outside on the inside to match the floor pans

Don't know of any frame connectors made that don't require some serious grinding and cutting to get them to fit nice. The good thing is there always seems to be extra material instead of not enough. Figure on spending a whole day cutting and grinding to get them to fit good. Plus some sweat, blood and tears. The reward after they're installed is a much stiffer vehicle! Worth the hassle.

Welcome to the site , for frame connectors I just use 1x2" .125 wall tube & notch & bend to fit the floor contour .
Thanks, I thought about grinding to fit (and that may be what I have to do), but figured someone out there must have used the USCT product. I believe they would fit almost perfect if the sections I highlighted were swapped. I have made contact with the company, but haven't received a response yet. They are listed as laser cut to match, and for $300+ they should match. I have seen photos that show them after installation, none that show how they fit up.

For $300 they should fit like a pair shorts like my girl friend wears. Look above. If anything include a templet for the final trimming and fitting.

I am well into the restoration already. I have all removable panels off the car and most in primer. Working on modifying the floor tunnel to accommodate a gear vendor OD. The next step is the rotisserie which is why I need to get the frame rails taken care of. Unfortunately I have not taken pictures of the car during the resto. I have used other connectors, I have a 69' Cuda, but that would for the a body forum. I was intrigued by the laser cut to fit offering, which would be really great if they only were. I am going to do a little more work on trying to get these to fit. In the picture I attached the inside portion of each channel has a square notch. It lines up perfectly with the floor pan drain (where the front and rear pans meet), but that drain would be on the outside of the channel, not the inside. The profile from there back looks like it would match if the two sections were reversed.
Nice, that's the type of fit I would expect for the price.

Have you contacted USCT? I just looked at the pics on their website and while small, they looked like the features were the same orientation as in your pics.
I've got a set of these connectors for my 73 Cuda not installed yet and besides the length, they should have similar floorpan features. I can dig them out if you need.
What part of WI are you in?
I have contacted USCT and they just responded today. The connectors are made correctly, according to them. I will be trying to fit them up again Thursday, but holiday weekend coming up so I may not have enough time to figure this out before the weekend. They did confirm some modifying may be required, this is what I was trying to avoid. I remember reading somewhere that they fit like a glove, they must have been thinking of OJ. Don't dig yours out yet if I get them to fit I will get pics and post details on what is required.
I am in central WI
I'll try and get some pics posted next week. I usually have several projects going at one time. I have a Demon on the back burner that gets a small amount of attention. And am waiting on new rear brakes for conversion to front disc for the 69' Cuda. I also am helping a friend who is working on a 28' Plymouth. I wire cars for a sideline, I'm semi-retired, so it helps fund some of my projects.
