hello I picked up a set of 340 hp manifolds a couple years back. They came with a 6 pack set up that has been verified authentic 340 oem stuff

I can only find casting numbers on the pass side and they are 2863549 with a L1 below that. Does look they were sanded down and painted at some point.

I guess I am looking to verify they are actually hp manifolds. What would they have been on. And what color / paint should they be finished with

The lower one looks like a 2863553 which would be the 68-70 340 exhaust manifold as is the other one also.

They would not have had any paint on them from the factory accept overspray from when they painted the engine.

These are the correct 1970 factory casting numbers for the exhaust manifolds as per Roseville.

340 1970 Challenger / Right 2863549
340 1970 Challenger / Left 2863553

Cudas used the same manifolds in 69-70
The above manifolds were also used in A bodies

Here are the other 340 Mopar casting numbers for the manifolds:
340 1969-70 Dart / Right 2863549
340 1969-70 Dart / Left 3614368
340 1971-72 Right 3148623
340 1971-72 Left 3418621
340 1971-73 Dart / Right 3418623
340 1971-73 Dart / Left 3614395

Your manifolds look correct. Here is a set that Blue Star is selling for a comparison:
The ad has other closeup pictures that you can view.

Media blast and powder coat to a fresh cast iron color or paint them yourself with Eastwood has a good high temp cast iron paint in a rattlecan.

I bought repro Hemi manifolds in 2002 and had them Jett Coated when new and in 2018 they still look great. they had a place in PA where I dropped them off and the shipped them to me two weeks later. I'm glad I did them. Don't know if and where they are now.

Check for cracks and flange for any warpage. Machine for any warpage after you have them coated for a true, flat mating surface. Ceramic coating is also great for reducing heat radiation. The factory manifolds were originally designed for no gaskets. Gaskets are designed for irregular surfaces and for dissimilar materials eg. aluminum heads cast iron block. They expand and contract at different rates so they need a gasket to maintain seal.
