Lots of restoration errors. I hate when they forget to blackout the decklid under the spoiler. I guess it depends who is in the audience.

Car goes on the block today!
Has the build sheet and she looks clean.
Strange; only classic Challenger that came up in this auction!
Wonder how bidding goes right before Christmas?
Should be interesting.

Well katsaar,
i was just saying....if I was the type of person who goes to these auction houses to buy a car, or if i liked to end up on TV and enjoyed bragging to my friends about how little money means to me , I would want to pay $100k. More bragging rights! Right?
But I am not rich and neither me, nor my friends get a woody spending money frivolously.
We've got to appreciate where this car was being sold. Auction houses like this don't usually cater to people who have to save for a car, these Hollywood type venues are for rich folks to flirt with their money. It's an old game really, you all know that.
When I said it should bring more than 60, I wasn't thinking about the purist who knows all the specs but he is saving every month to buy a car. I was just thinking of the venue and the type of folks who go THERE to buy a car.
You guys all remember the cuda that sold for 3.5 million dollars? Well that thing wouldn't have been sold for that
price if it had been sitting in somebody's backyard.
People who buy and sell classic cars at these auction houses expect inflated price on their cars anyway!, but they do it so they can have some excitement in their lives, see some action, get some action and maybe end up on TV, the cost of this kind of life style is secondary to them.
And all bs aside, it sold too cheap!

I think $53k was just right for the car. Had a number of restoration errors that you could see in the photos.

Not to belabor the point:
Sales prices at auctions and private sales are often different; catering to a different market.

Just as a perspective; these are Mecum TA Challenger sales from 2015-2017 that I researched 2 years ago. Mild to wild!

Again, Interesting comparison, even to the other auction houses: Prices for TA's seem to be in the same ranges. (It may be time for me to research the last two years)

Challenger TA's sold prices 2017

- TA Challenger auto, plum crazy 76k no sale

- TA Challenger auto, red 72k miles 57K

- TA Challenger 4sp, red 77.5K

- TA Challenger auto plum crazy, w build sheet 65K no sale

- TA Challenger auto Y1 yellow w houndstooth interior 65K no sale

Challenger TA sold prices 2016

- TA Challenger 4sp red, 14.8K miles original not restored 82K

- TA Challenger 4sp, red/white 57.5K

- TA Challenger auto, panther pink 65K no sale

- TA Challenger 4sp burnt orange, build sheet 80K

Challenger TA sold prices 2015

- TA Challenger 4 sp red, Mr. Norm's car orig docs 75K

- TA Challenger 4sp, lime green 65k not sold

- TA Challenger auto, red matching numbers 63K

- TA Challenger 4sp, matching numbers 90K

Katsaar, I am not an expert bud and I could be wrong, never claimed to be infallible, lol, but wouldn't that be nice, seriously?......
sorry if I sounded opinionated friend.
