Does anyone know if there is much difference in pressure between the standard oil pump output and the high volume pump? Obviously volume of oil is increased due to the deeper impeller and housing but I was wondering how this affects the oil pressure?

Melling has both as a High pressure or High volume pumps .
I would never use a high volume pump with aa stock oil pan , generally I do use High pressure pumps on my builds .

Engine masters did an episode on this with a BBM since the oil pump is external making things easier and quicker to test.

I've run high pressure high volume oil pumps /with stock oil pans for decades on all of my small blocks including daily drivers with no problems..

Congrats at least until there is a problem such as a long duration high rpm pull
