What’s the big red cable doing there? Is it just another ground? I’m not nit picking, just curious

Wrong negative cable so someone added a jumper but you gotta question the choice of a red cable on negative side.

Who sells the cap and decal set for the battery?

I’m told I’m missing the bezel on top of shift pattern; who sells it and how does it attach?

its a chrome piece that the lens fits in. I’ve purchased from year one, classic and there’s several vendors that carry them. Won’t be hard to find.

How does it mount to the top of that shifter?

The chrome piece has a square opening that fits on top of the grips and metal shifter, lens goes on top. Easy stuff.

So how is my shift pattern being held in place without a bezel? Looks like 2 screws go through the bezel? Hope Bubba didn’t glue stuff together.

LOL! I've had at least 5 different pistol grip shifters over the years and every one of them had some type of glue in the square hole. The lens should have an adhesive backing on it. It's simple to take out the 3 screws and take a look after you get the rest of the stuff.

Once I have a new shift pattern and a bezel I’ll disassemble it.

Is there a VIN data decal on a 71 and, if so, where?

Anyone got a picture?

It looks to me like the WP should be rotated 180* so the weep hole is on the bottom. Am I missing the point. Or are you saying bolt holes don’t line up??

Is this carb correct for a 71 383 4spd R/T? List 4668 and date is 2250 which is August 13th and my motor was assembled September 2nd and car is assembled September 8. I think the numbers line up well.

Damn is 4668 383 auto?
