Overheard console door ajar pin?

Is there a spring, or adjustment for these pins? Got the wiring figured out, but the door ajar light stays on. Trying to figure out this pin so it will go out. Appreciate any help with this.

I think your switch is missing something. There is a collapsible part to the assembly that sort of self-adjusts the first time you close the door on it. This image I stole from ebay shows the full assembly.

The brass part slides through the silver-threaded part to set the correct depth when the door gets closed the first time. I presume friction holds it in place. when the door opens, only the silver plunger moves, closing the circuit for the dome light.

Those you have pictured are for interior lights. The one I have pictured are for the door ajared. There is a light in the overhead console that tells you your door is not completely shut. Interior light switch is in front of door. The ajar switch, or pin is in the back part of door panel.

Doh, sorry man. I jumped on my reply. I don't recall those in the two 1970 GC I've owned, and thought the function integrated with dome light switch. sorry, man. peace.

the threaded parts suggests there is a plunger thing-deal missing?

This switch is only an inch and a half. (1 1/2in.) Has only 1 prong to power it.

Since you have the switch you have something to work with. Fix it.
I would say open the crimped area on the spade terminal and install a spring. Or see if something is broke. Like an insulator.

You might be able to make one from a new switch.

Looked at that one at hilltop wow!!! My wife wouldn't lend me that kind of money for 2 switches lol. Yes fixing them or try to find something comparable. There has to be something out there.

With a small screwdriver, carefully pry open the 90 degree terminal and remove it from the old switch, and then crimp it into place on the new one. Works great.

Yes that is true!! In that switch there is a spring inside. And yes it works after a cleaning, and engineering a plastic plunger. Door ajar light goes off and on as it should. Now how to figure out the seat belt light. No clue how that works?

Check the bulb first. Check for power and ground. Think simple.

Works off the time delay circuit.

The seat belt light just stays on. The light is not in or grounded yet until I start installing the headliner. Makes sense that it is on a delay. It is just a reminder. Not like new cars where it beeps at you when you don't have your seat belts on. Thanks for all your help!!

Seat belt light is just on a time delay relay (around 30 seconds or so). At least that's how it is set up on a 70 RT/SE. Yours is probably the same. Time delay is under the dash somewhere. Seem to recall it may be on passenger side around glove box??
