I am rebuilding a Ralley dash for a 73 Challenger. Can someone tell what is the item on the back of the instrument cluster housing that looks like a condenser and would anyone have a PN for it or lead to acquire one. I know about the voltage limiter.

Thanks

It would be a condenser to protect the points from arcing inside the voltage reg , if you go to an electronic reg you do not need the condenser anymore .

I also had this same question. I am replacing the harness and also run into this condenser. I am running a MSD eltronic distributor and coil. So can I leave this as is or pull it out?

if you are using the factory voltage reg for the dash the condenser protects the points in the reg , if you are using the solid state reg no need for the condenser
