Anyone, have any suggestions on how to install the aluminum back-plate with corner tabs to fixate onto the gauge housings with the Rallye Woodgrain Overlay?
Does anyone like a particular chemical something they have had good luck with for bonding the wood grain aluminum to the metal plate that finishes off the rally cluster the 3M spray adhesive did not seem to work came loose after just a few months sitting inside the house almost like it wasnt thick enough perfectly clean surface's ????? thanks for any advise greg
Bottom line is to TAKE YOUR TIME with the process. Work the aluminum gently until it fits nicely into the plastic housing. At that point the tabs will align properly with the slots in the housing. I removed the standard instrument cluster in my Challenger and went to the rallye style (using Dakota Digital). It was a good bit of work but looks nice now. Biggest issue for me was when the cluster/bezel was all assembled I had to get it into the dash. Took some massaging but it did fit. Don't be in a hurry! If you start being frustrated take a step back, have a nice cup of tea, and when things settle down again go back at it. You'll be glad you did.
