Seat back repair

Has anyone tried to repair gouges or scratches on the hard panel on the seat back?
I am in the process of restoring the seats and the backs have scratches and some gouges. Before I use the SEM products to paint it, it would be nice if there is a way to make it more presentible.

maybe try fine sandpaper or steel wool.let vus know what you end up doing. good luck

This works good ,Sand gouges or scratches out, Then get a vinal repair kit.
You will need the textured paper that comes with kit to add the texture back. Cut a deeper groove or spot and add vinyal repair (follow instructions in kit .after repair is done add you like the way it looks then repaint with sem paint.
