You could do what was done to this Camaro. The stripe is bare brushed metal that is clear coated. It would make a very unique bumble bee stripe. I'm going to find a customer that will let me do it to their car. Soon I am going to be working on a 71 that is black with blue stripes and blue interior. If it were painted I would have posted pics.

What do you mean by bare brushed metal? Is it not just painted on?
 
No it is not painted. The metal was striped of paint. Then it was brushed to give it a pattern. Think of a stainless steel sink pattern. Then the metal was painted with a clear coat. The bumper was done the same. Do a search for Good Guys 69 Camaro.

That's to cool. How thick is the metal?
 
It must be the thickness of the body steel. I can't see it being any thicker.
 
That silver sounds pretty cool but I think I'm going with the flat black stripe. Thanks to all who voted.
