Rebuilding the 340 motor to a 376. Originally figured if I didn't hammer the 340 too hard, the 904 transmission would hang. But now I'm doing a rebuild from Scat that will make it a 376ci motor and not sure if the 904 will hang. Also, I want an overdrive as I have 391 gears in the diff.. So, either I add a Gear Venders to the 904 and go easy, or go to a 46RE or 46RH. This is a street car. What ya all say? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The 518OD has a much better OD ration compared to the GV's. Which is why I went with one behind my Hemi. But why not the 500OD? With the proper parts, they will hold a good amount of power.

@Juan Veldez, go with either the 518 or 500 (46rh or 42rh) before 96 (i.e. 95 and earlier) and it's practically a bolt in deal. Just need to cut a few webs on the over drive housing and grab a new cross member and shorten the drive shaft a couple inches. Search for my posts, I have the pictures on here and I even fabricated a bracket to use your factory center console linkage!

PM me if you want me to make you a bracket and I'll gladly make you one and send it to you! You have to pay the shipping though! 🙂
