Does anyone have experience with the 1.03 pst torsion bars. I have a 71 challenger and am looking to make the front end stiffer. Did you like how much they lowered the car? Is the ride to harsh? Anything else I should know about them?

The torsion bars are only part of the suspension. The type of shocks, tire size and type as well as air pressure all factor into the ride and handling characteristics. What are you trying to achieve ?

I'm trying to achieve better handling. I don't want the nose to dive so much when braking hard or cornering? I have heard that these cars were under sprung from the factory. I also plan on adding sway bars in addition to the stiffer springs.

Excellent. Need to find out from PST which torsion bars you have and they can recommend the complete package for you to get what you are looking for. They are one of our vendors and give us a discount. Contact them and they will be more than happy to recommend a complete system for you.

I used 1.03" Hotchkis bars in conjunction with their EMax rear springs, Energy suspension poly bushings and stockk shocks and they reduced body roll to almost zero with an all iron 440 over them, very impressed.........and without a sway bar too!
All the bar suppliers are good but I like using products that get raced and hammered on track days, FirmFeel are the daddies for that : )

I put the 1.03 bars on my 71 challenger with a 440 . The ride is not any stiffer than the bars that came with a 383. The front end does not collapse in the turns.I also have sway bars.
