Water Temp Gauge Install

Looking for sender location on the Auto Meter water temp gauge install for my TA/340. Never done one before. Any help is appreciated.

Usually you’ll just use one of the threaded ports near the radiator or heater hose, and sometimes you’ll need an adapter. I don’t currently have a picture of a small block application, so I can’t provide visual reference.

Usual location is at the thermostat housing area.

Ok. Found the port. Next - the install says to run a ground wire to a reliable ground near the sending unit. Any ideas for a good spot to run that won’t look out of place?

Others may correct me, but I’ve gone to the ground at the radiator support with no problems. Or if you have good access to the engine/chassis ground, I think that would also be a good option.

Since the sending unit is attached/grounded to the intake manifold you could attach anywhere on the intake or head. It would be hidden in the rear.
