I'm about to buy a rear valence for the 74 Cuda I'm working on. Questions (1) what's the difference between the valence on a 73/74 and 71/72 and does anyone's 73/74 have a 'tab' sticking out on the side? (See lower picture)? The valence I took off the car had a tab sticking out on the driver side. Am I missing something or is there a specific reason for the tab? Also, I replace by quarter panels with AMD quarters and now the original valence doesn't fit without removing the tab. Has anyone encountered this?

What's strange is that if you look at this same part but as part of a kit with mounting brackets it shows a tab sticking out on the passenger side:
