What you prefer to seal header bolts in the water jacket?

Hi, I have a 383 and 440 of which both have slight water leaks around some of the header bolts. What is the best sealant to use IYO to seal these areas?

I use the liquid Teflon tape, however I use studs on mine. works well and never had any issues.

Studs on the outer exhaust bolt holes is definitely the way to go. Lots of different sealers out there.

moparleo......what do you use as a sealer?

I will use studs when I put the headers on the manafolds, but want advice on sealer.

Red RTV Silicone sealer will work just fine. Just a dab is all you need. Liquid Teflon tape also works. Permatex, Loc-tite all make tread sealers. Just use high quality stuff.

Agree with the studs...

I used plain old permatex #2 when I put the studs in , from what I can recall. No issues.
