Fouled plugs 70 cuda 440 6bbl

If I have a fouled plug on 70 cuda 440-6 is the sound of a misfiring engine very loud and obvious?
 
What are you hearing… like knocking/ tapping? Really need some more descriptive details.

I recommending cleaning the plug and switching with another one that reads tan (good). Check for corrosion/proper contact on the spark plug wire on that fouled plug. Run it for a while. Check both plugs. If the new location for the plug is fouled, it's a bad spark plug. If it reads foul in the same cylinder as before, it's probably a bad wire/connection. Process of elimination and no money spent yet. Some may say once a plug is fouled, it's a throw away, but I've cleaned and re-used them in the past without an issue. Good luck.
 
Are you a new owner of this car ?
Do you have a more detailed description of what exactly you mean ?
Any specifics on the engine specs ? Any recent mods done ?
Clearer info makes it easier to give a better guess.

Do you have a stock ignition with points? Make sure both sets of points are set right. Think about an upgrade to a hotter spark via coil, or even Mopar electronic ignition if not done already.
 
To answer your question as to whether it is "loud" or not depends on several issues such as how many plugs are fouled and how loud your exhaust is.

Is most cases a fouled plug (1 of them) will manifest itself as an engine miss wherein the engine is not running smoothly. If you are watching it, the engine will appear to rock abnormally as it is running. If you are listening to it, you will hear it stumble. Under acceleration it will be sluggish.
 
Front drivers plug was wet with gas and second from front had little smell of gas. How can I fix this one cylinder? Here's pics. Anyone else see anything I should be concerned with?

I had a 440+6 in a 69 Barracuda and had problems fouling the plugs. Would run great one day like crap the next. I did not have a good body to engine ground, junkyard ground strap cleared up my plugs immediately. Moral of the story, a weak spark, for whatever reason can cause headaches in tuning.
 
Many 6 packs run "fat" and plug fouling is relatively common unless you can really dial in the carb set. It takes some time and experience to get them sorted but its work the effort. A good O2 gauge is very helpful in the process.
 
He said that 1 plug was wet... that is why I suggested that he swap that plug, restart and check it again. If same hole is wet, ignition.

New parts don't always work properly. Verify by this simple test.

New plugs, cables and cap . And its running as good as when I got it in January.

What alternator did a 70 cuda' 440 6bbl come with?
Grounded brush alternator
Insulated brush alternator
Isolated firld alternator
